GEEK this look with the following items:
- Imaginarium train table (from Toys R Us)
- 15" x 15" Lego Classic 10701 gray baseplate (6 qty)
- Removable adhesive squares (24 qty)
- Lego Duplo bricks (3 pieces)
- Screws (2 qty)
- Power drill / screwdriver
- Crazy glue
- Accent Items (Lego UCS X-Wing, UCS Tie Interceptor, Alphabet rug)
DIY (Do It Yourself) by following these steps:
- For new drawer handle, drill holes into the two small Duplo bricks to accommodate screws
- Remove old handle and screw in the two small Duplo bricks
- Crazy glue the large Duplo brick onto the small Duplo bricks
- For train table, flip over the table top
- Tape down the gray baseplate corners using adhesive squares
BAM! Lego Table!
This simple DIY is a great way to re-purpose a train table once your kid(s) out-grow trains. Buying Lego 15" x 15" baseplates can get somewhat expensive ($15 each), but the size fits perfectly on the Imaginarium train table. The drawer can be used to store Lego pieces, Lego instructions, and/or small Lego boxes. Moreover, there's plenty of room to store plastic bins (filled with Lego Star Wars goodies) underneath the table. May the 4th be with you!
