LARGE SCALE STATUE ACRYLIC DISPLAY CASE DIY

More photos and DIY details after the Jump!

GEEK this look with the following materials:
- 0.25" thick clear cast acrylic sheets: 17.00" X 36.00" (2 Qty.)
- 0.25" thick clear cast acrylic sheets: 17.50" X 36.00" (2 Qty.)
- 0.25" thick clear cast acrylic sheet: 17.50" X 17.50" (1 Qty.)
- Acrylic cement (TAP Plastics)
- Hypo-Applicator (TAP Plastics)
- Plastic funnel (TAP Plastics)
- Box cutter
- Safety gloves

DIY (Do It Yourself) by following these steps:
- Use box cutter to cut off acrylic sheet's protective masking material in areas to be cemented (keep the remaining protective wrapper in place to avoid scratches)
- Put on safety gloves
- Fill Hypo-Applicator with the cement using the funnel
- Acrylic display case DIY in previous post here ... with the following exception: apply cement along the joints from the outside (instead of along the inside)

BAM! Large scale acrylic display case!

This is the largest, tallest, heaviest acrylic display case I have ever attempted! Since this behemoth is so big, it will not be possible to reach in and apply cement along the joints from the inside of the box (unless you are Mr. Fantastic). Therefore, this DIY requires you to work with the cement applicator from outside the box ... not from the inside. However, that is the only difference and the results are the same. The acrylic sheets were all ordered from "Professional Plastics" and they did a great job cutting the pieces to my specifications at an awesome price (total amount for all 5 pieces: $153 US Dollars). Next week, I will reveal what will be displayed in this huge case! Hint: It will be a 1:3 scale comic statue.
