DC COMICS SUPERMAN STATUE DISPLAY SIMPLE PLYWOOD PEDESTAL STAND DIY TUTORIAL

GEEK this look with the following materials:
- 0.50" thick plywood for the "front and back" (12" x 23.75")
- 0.50" thick plywood for the "sides" (11" x 23.75")
0.25" thick plywood for the "top and bottom" (11" x 11")
- 0.75" x 0.75" thick poplar wood for inside support rails (22" long)
- Drill/Electric screwdriver, drill bit, screws
- Wood glue
- Tape measure
- Table saw and miter saw (optional)

DIY (Do It Yourself) by following these steps:
- Cut all wood to size using table saw (or cut at hardware store when purchasing the wood)
- Drill holes in the support rails to accommodate screws
- Glue/Screw support rails onto long edges of "sides" plywood (leave 0.50" spacing on top)
- Glue/Screw all four plywoods together to form a rectangular box
- Glue/Screw the four corners of "bottom" plywood onto the support rails
- Drop in the "top" plywood to rest on the support rails

BAM! A simple, easy to make pedestal stand!

I haven't done a pedestal stand in awhile, so I decided to do one with exposed wood (since I really like the details of wood grains). Plywood is a fairly cheap material and it's easy to work with, so all this can be done at a good price ... less than $20 US Dollars! The top plywood can be taken off to allow access to the inside (so things like the statue's packaging can be stored). In the coming weeks, I will post DIY tutorials on how to "trick out" this pedestal stand. Stay tune!
